Economic Impact of the Fertilizer Industry in the United States

Recently The Fertilizer Institute published data revealing that the U.S. fertilizer industry contributes more than $155 billion to the U.S. economy. 495,000 jobs are supported by fertilizer producers, wholesalers and retailers generating $36 billion in wages per year. It is estimated that industry businesses pay $15 billion state and federal taxes per year in the U.S. In Georgia alone, the fertilizer industry generates 11,415 jobs earning $762.72 million in wages per year.
